Description
Aluminum Sulfate, commonly known as Alum, is a traditional inorganic coagulant widely used in water and wastewater treatment. It is typically available in solid (granular, flake, or powder) and liquid forms. Upon dissolution in water, it produces aluminum hydroxide, which effectively adsorbs and binds impurities for floc formation. Although it generates more sludge compared to newer coagulants like PAC or ACH, Alum remains a cost-effective and widely accepted option for coagulation, pH adjustment, and phosphorus removal.
