Description

Aluminum Ammonium Sulfate, commonly known as Ammonium Alum, is a hydrated double sulfate salt of aluminum and ammonium. It appears as a colorless to white crystalline solid that is readily soluble in water. Ammonium Alum is primarily used in water purification, as a mordant in dyeing and printing textiles, and in the cosmetics industry. It works by hydrolyzing in water to form aluminum hydroxide, which acts as a flocculating agent by adsorbing impurities and forming large aggregates that can be easily removed.
